Considered the largest archaeological preserve in the country, this park was created in 1906 by president Roosevelt. In 1978, it was named a World Heritage site in recognition of its exceptional archaeological relevance. Mesa Verde Archaeological attractions

Located near the Four Corners, the park occupies 81.4 square miles. This park is the archaeological site of the prehistoric Ancestral Puebloan culture, which lasted about 900 hundred years from 450 to 1300. These ancestral Pueblo Indian dwellings can be found at an altitude of more than 8,500 feet. About 600 “cliff dwellings” can be found in this park including certain popular and notable sites such as: the Balcony House (with 45 rooms), the Cliff Palace (with 200 rooms and many more areas), the Long House, Oak Tree House, Mug House, Spruce Tree House, Square Tower House, and more.

Mancos State Park: Fees

One of the parks you can visit and camp at is Mancos State Park, in Southwestern Colorado. And from this park, you can visit Mesa Verde National Park, San Juan Skyway, Public Lands and Durango. The Daily vehicle pass is $7, Annual Park Pass $70 per vehicle, and the Aspen Leaf Pass for Colorado Residents 64 years or older is $60 valid for 12 months after purchase. The Camping Fee is $16 per night for a campsite. You can also rent a Yurt $70 per night, there are 2 available year-round. There are 2 campgrounds with 32 campsites available. Also, you can visit Mesa Verde National Park and pay $10-$15 for a private vehicle entrance or $5-$8 for motorbikes, bicycles s and others.
