Protecting the Grand Canyon #WeAreGrand

One of the most treasured natural formations, if not the most iconic of the country, is the Grand Canyon. Visited by hundred thousands of people every year, this magnificent place gives spectators an unforgettable experience. But now, this one of a kind place is endangered by massive developments.A proposed amusement park and an increase in uranium mining are threatening the canyon’s beauty, groundwater withdrawals and the health of the Colorado River.

Mile Hi Rafting Company, just 30 minutes from Denver, offers outdoor adventure for outdoor enthusiasts. We offer ATV and UTV tours and full overnight camping excursions; and help you plan your perfect outdoor day. We care about our country’s natural treasures and we believe it’s important to take action.

In an effort to expose this situation and to brincanyoneeringg awareness to people, American Rivers has partnered with TakePart. The project invites people to share their Grand Canyon stories and to speak up for protecting this unique area. You can do one of 3 things:

  1. Share a photo of the Grand Canyon.
  2. If you haven’t visited it yet, write the hashtag #WeAreGrand on a sheet of paper and take a picture of yourself holding it. Share it on your social networks.
  3. Share your story of your visit to the Grand Canyon.

All these can be done by going into the The Grand Canyon Belongs to All of Us: #WeAreGrand TakePart website.
