Arkansas River

The Arkansas River is the most popular rafting river in America! From its headwaters at the historic mining area around Leadville, Colorado; through scenic mountain towns like Buena Vista and Salida, Colorado; to the breathtaking Royal Gorge and beyond… Colorado’s Arkansas River has some of the nation’s most exciting whitewater and amazing mountain views. The Arkansas is open for rafting from April until Labor Day and is the only river in Colorado that guarantees water for rafting June 15 until August 15.

The mountain towns and wilderness areas that lie in and surround the Arkansas River valley are full of excellent recreation opportunities. Besides rafting, kayaking and canoeing, take advantage of the area’s fishing, hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing, ghost towns and historic areas.

All raft trips include use of wet suit, splash jacket, helmet, and a PFD. Booties are available for a $3 fee. A professional Guide is on each raft.

Brown’s Canyon (Full Day) – $90 adults, $80 child

One of the nation’s classic whitewater runs, a raft trip through Brown’s Canyon offers sheer excitement, thrills, and spectacular vistas of the Collegiate Peaks. This class III raft trip includes rapids named Pinball, Zoom Flume, Big Drop, Staircase, Seidel’s Suckhole and more! Your river adventure includes a savory riverside lunch and is perfect for all ability levels.

Minimum weight 50 pounds.

Big Horn Sheep Canyon (1/2 day) – $49 adults, $39 child

Named for the numerous herds of bighorn sheep that inhabit this canyon, this Class III trip is filled with fun whitewater and great rapids such as Five Points, Spikebuck, Shark’s Tooth and Double Dip. This is the perfect trip for any group or family looking for adventure, scenery and wildlife.

Minimum weight 50 pounds.

Royal Gorge (Full Day) – $109 adults

Intense whitewater, adrenaline filled fun, and one of the most picturesque gorges in the USA are just a few of the highlights on this trip. Experience the excitement of navigating the class III-IV rapids of Three Rock Falls, Spikebuck, Sunshine, Slegehammer, The Narrows, Boat-Eater and more! Pass underneath the nation’s highest suspension bridge, more than 1100 feet overhead. Recommended for the adventure seeker with good physical conditioning and previous experience. Includes our famous “half-time” lunch.

Minimum age 16.

Brown’s Canyon (2-day) – $325

Brown’s Canyon is considered the best family rafting in the United States. These trips are leisurely paced and afford the opportunity to stop throughout the day and discover the beauty of canyon vistas, alpine landscapes, and wildlife in its natural habitat. All ages will enjoy this adventure! Your guide will prepare 2 lunches riverside, then dinner and breakfast at camp.

Minimum weight of 50 pounds*.

Brown’s Canyon/Royal Gorge (2-day) – $325

Start with one day on the beautiful Brown’s Canyon trip, camp along the Arkansas River then prepare yourself for the challenging famous Royal Gorge trip. Your guides will prepare 2 lunches, 1 breakfast and 1 dinner while you relax and enjoy the majestic mountains and wildlife in its natural habitat.

Minimum group size 4**.
Minimum age 16*.

Arkansas 3-day trip – $400

Escape the hectic summer crowds on our 3-day trip. Begin with the Brown’s Canyon 2 day trip and follow it up with a climatic Royal Gorge trip. Relax and enjoy while the guides take care of all the chores. Uninterrupted fun and food await you. Includes meals; dinners and breakfasts at camp, and lunches prepared riverside.

Minimum group size 4**.
Minimum age 15*.

*Minimum age is recommended based upon water flow. The final decision is left to the parent/guardian.

**Due to planning and equipment required groups of 4 or more are necessary for these trips, however smaller groups are welcome to join other parties when available.

Reservations

Reservations made less than 36 hours in advance must be placed via phone at 303-567- 0717 to insure availability. Reservations are recommended to guarantee your date and time. Your reservation is for a specific time and date. To book your reservation we will need a 50% deposit or full payment. The deposit will be credited to your scheduled trip. You can cancel or change your trip up to 72 hours prior.  If you cancel prior to 72 hours you will be refunded minus a booking fee of 5%. If you cancel within 72 hours you will receive a 50% refund. The day of your adventure you will be charged for everyone reserved as reserved. All participants must sign a liability waiver.
