The Clear Creek River, the steepest raftable river in Colorado, has an average gradient of 67 feet per mile, and over 100 feet per mile on the advanced sections of the stream. This translates to more rapids per mile. This steep, narrow and technical river winds through the historic mining valley of Idaho Springs. This relatively small stream offers trips for fun loving beginners, adventurous intermediate rafters and the adrenaline junkie.

The river is open for rafting from May through July and some years August.
