The Time Has Come: Adjust Your Life Jacket and Paddle into Adventure
The Mile Hi Rafting Annual Citizen’s Clear Creek Challenge is here!
Next June 12th, Clear Creek River will gather whitewater rafting enthusiast from all over the world. Professionals, advanced and amateur rafters will join us at Mile Hi Rafting in order to test everyone’s skills in the steep, narrow and technical Clear Creek Whitewaters.
Clear Creek River is known as the steepest raftable river in Colorado, with an average gradient of 67 feet per mile, and over 100 feet per mile of advanced sections. This translates to more rapids per mile and more fun for all of the contenders.
The race begins at 6pm, rafting through the historic mining valley of Idaho Springs. This area boasts beautiful mountain scenery, with an abundance of wildlife. Just by taking a few steps into the forest, you and your family could see muskrats, beavers, deer, bighorn sheep, and even an occasional Eagle.
You can also come a little earlier and enjoy the great outdoors with your family. We’ve got some of the best hiking and biking trails in the area. Plus, you’ll find great restaurants just minutes away. No reason not to join us!
