Trail conditions and things to keep in mind

Whether you’re hiking or driving a Colorado trail, it’s important to always check the weather conditions and equip yourself adequately. For every thousand feet of elevation in a Colorado trail, the temperature will drop 5.5 degrees so be sure to dress and shoe yourself accordingly. Also, use plenty sunscreen as ultraviolet radiation increases about 26 percent at elevations between 5000 and 14000 feet. Remember to hydrate constantly and to bring a compass or any other navigation tools.
